I used to do mine after every 2 oz. but once she started eating more she didn't need to be burped so often, so you may be able to go the whole 4 oz. bottle before he needs to burp. Mainly though just follow his cues. My daughter would kind of pull away from the bottle or push it away. I thougt she was done eating when it first happened but then I learned that the smart little gal would stop eating if she really had to burp bad. =)

You should burp him as soon as he's done with the formula. There's no need to burp him after every 2 oz. Unless he's still under 1 month old. When my son was born, he would only consume less than 1 oz. We had to burp him before we tried to feed him another ounce.

That depends on teh baby and hwo he handles eating. Some will stay needing burped every 2 oz or so, others can go a full bottle. Just try after 4 oz and see how he does, you can just keep adjusting it from there as he needs it.

It really depends on how your baby is, when my daughter was an infant we just had to try different ways, try burping after 3 and see what happens, then try after 4, and so on, see which way works best for him. My daughter ended up drinking her whole bottle before she would burp...good luck

Try it every 4 oz, if he spits up a ton, try it after 3 oz. If he doesn't burp after 4 oz, try it at the end of the bottle. It's all trial and error because what works for one baby may not work for your baby.

My son drinks 6 ounces now in his bottle and he will not burp until after he is finished.

It all depends onthe baby, if you are letting him have the whole bottle and he burps and there is not a whole lot of spit up then he's good to go but if you notice that after drinking a whole bottle he spits up a lot that means you waited to long to burp.

Burping baby is simply a way to rid their tummies of excess air which got into their stomachs while eating/nursing. My babies were all 'little piggies' and nursed so rapidly that they would swallow lots of air and require frequent burping. If your baby does not swallow as much air, he/she will will not need to be burped as often. Your baby will let you know how often they need to be burped. Their tummies get hard when they are full of air.

Good luck!

I usually did it after 4 oz.. Sometimes they dont have to burp until then. Just try 4 oz, and see how he does.
