That's what terrorists do. It's a little like picking a fight with a retarded kid; even if you win, you didn't really win. Lowering ourselves to that level only validates their tactics and cause to the entire Middle East. To learn more about terrorists' tactics, check out the CIA's manual on guerilla warfare (that's where the terrorists learned it too).

Had it been up to me, on September 12, 2001, instead of declaring an ambiguous "War on Terror" which I think is stupid, I would have rallied the country to enlist in our military and declared war on Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Palenstine, Afghanistan and every other country in the world known to have supported terrorism. I think at that time Europe would have supported us and China and Russia would have as well just to share in the oil revenue once the war was over.
Given the 40 years of cheap cowardly attacks by groups from these nations and their governments' condoning if not outright support, a delcaration of war by us would be justified.
With one million US troops in the region and another 1-2 million from around the world, the war would have been over by now.
But no, GWB, in his infinite wisdom, told us to go shopping.
SHOPPING!

It's an asymetric conflict, yes. The terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq adopt guerilla tactics, because they are too badly overmatched to mount an effective defense.

Well, I think you are right. The best way to deal with terrorists is to beat them at their own game. We have a CIA and FBI for a reason. Mobilize the field agents to go infiltrate these groups then destroy them by whatever means possible. Trying to send a platoon to do what one man could do is foolish.

No, our military is fighting organized groups of terrorists in Iraq and Afganistan. We killed many Al Qaeda in the invasion of Afganistan and in the many battles in Iraq. We should put more military forces on our southern border and have them engage organized gangs of people and drug smugglers, not just to stop illegal aliens and drugs, but to stop terrorists and terrorist sympathizers from entering our country. There are terrist training bases in South and Central America and it is quite easy now for them to enter our country over our porous southern border.

no that's not sensible as you have causalities from non-cease wars bodily and mentally. do not forget each and all of the infantrymen that devote suicide that aren't getting counted as a casualty of wars. that's uneconomic to be in a non-cease state of warfare so as offshore wealthy businessmen can get richer and richer from employing taxpayer funded government defense force to guard their commerce routes and set up new infrastructure in foreign places warmongering international locations so as that they'd open up an offshore enterprise. All offshore agencies could would desire to pay a private assurance top rate to governments who use their defense force as unpaid policeman and protectors of commerce routes for their merchandise. enable each and all of the foreign places international locations kill one yet another with tribal infighting, genocide and stay of their very own international places to combat for their very own foundations of democracy and infrastructure. Governments in foreign places international locations could tax the wealthy to pay for their very own infrastructure, well-being, training and social welfare and advantages. in basic terms assault a usa in the event that they assault you like in international warfare 2 while nazi japan bombed pearl harbour. non-cease 0.5 hearted wars fee money and rack up the national debt.

actually, what they are doing now is fighting for their lives because they bit off more than they can chew. BTW, it's obviously escaped the notice of your puny brain, but the terrorists are "stuck in Iraq" now like you all try to say WE are

Yes.
Very ineffecient. Several innocent (non-biting) insects get killed in the process.
