I mean cmon guys. Rock and Pop have always been together. But both are two very opposite generas (or however you spell it). Metal heads need their hard, head bangn', beautiful music and pop stars need their boy band, lovie-dovie, romantic music. CMON!!!

Absolutely! They're two completely different genres of music!

You`re absolutely right!
Rock and Pop are simply too different genres, they shouldn`t have the same headline.
I think there should be done something about it!
As a Metal head, I`m not interested into pop music and that kind of stuff!!

Cmon, the genres aren't always mixed, are you deaf.Pop/Rock is only mixed in certain areas.Pop rock includes Maroon 5,All American Rejects, and The Futureheads while alternative hard rock is Three Days Grace,Stone Temple Pilots, and Evenesance. They are rock, wth limited pop. Then there's stuff considered pop but without being boy bandish like you say.Rock bands like Matchbox Twenty are on pop station while keeping their rock.Boy bands are Backstreet Boys and N'Sync who if you haven't noticed are gone.

Actual pop is Kathrine McPhee,Britney Spears, and Mariah Carey.

you have chosen an EXXX-cellent topic! like many others, i agreed with you long before i ever read your question.

rock is, in itself, a pretty broad genre with lots of sub-categories. you've got alternative, grunge, classic rock, hard rock, etc. pop is totally different from rock and moving further away all the time.

looking backward, i wouldn't put the turtles with jimi hendrix OR the carpenters with led zeppelin OR air supply with motley crue OR ace of base with pearl jam OR britney spears with velvet revolver.

we NEED to get this resolved with Y!

Sometimes in stores like Best Buy they put R&B with Rock, too. Doesn't make too much sense to me either, man. Start a petition to Yahoo! Answers ;)

I agree, I saw that and 'bout sh*t my pants. I hate pop music with a passion. Boy bands are the epitomy of gay.
