Whenever I try to go to a certain site, for example, google.com, the browser, internet explorer, automatically reroutes to a different site...
I think it was something my obnoxious cousin did....
Any ideas on how to reverse it?

What site does it reroute you to?

Sounds like a "browser hijacker". Download and run a spyware scanner (such as the free Skybot Seek&Destroy at http://download.com ) and see if the fixes it. If not, repost with the name of the site where it takes you. The fix for each site is different.

If it's not what the guy above said go to My Computer, C Drive, Windows, System32, Drivers, Etc.. Then right click on the Hosts file and say open with Notepad. Check to see that those sites are not linked to another IP address. If you see Google.com and an ip address just delete it.

This is all I have in the list at the bottom.
127.0.0.1 localhost

Sounds like you have something called a "Hijacker." This is a non-viral program that hijacks your Internet connection and redirects you to other sites.

Follow the link below, and download the following free software.

Ad-Aware
Spy-Bot Search and Destroy
Hijack This

Run them in this order and you should have not problem removing the Hijacker.

You probably have a homepage hijacker. Scan your system for virus' and parasite, trojan's etc. also. There are free programs for that and they work. Check to see what your homepage is set for through internet options. If it's not what you originally had it set for, change it back and then go into your browser to see if it takes you there, if it takes you somewhere else, then you need to rid your system of malicious ware.
