I needed to know the probability of getting pregnant on your period. I have never really kept track of my periods but I do know that they are never at the same time. My periods seem pretty sparatic. I had unprotected sex all through my last period which was recently. Well all of the sudden my period just stopped. I mean it didn't stop like it normally does. So, I just wanted to know what the chances of pregnancy are? Also, I had sex the very night my period just stopped too. It hasn't been that much time so there is no way to tell yet. But I'm freaking a little because of the weird way it ended. I'd appreciate an answer as soon as anyone can get to me! Thanks

I would keep track of when your period started, then when it is due, if it doesn't start, then test. If the test is negative, test again about two weeks later if your period hasn't started yet. My periods aren't normal either. Sometimes I go for three months without getting one. But I still test just to make sure. The probability is very low so you probably have nothing to worry about. But if you stress about this, stress can cause the period not to start normally.

A woman is most likely to become pregnant if sexual intercourse occurs just before or just after ovulation. Sperm can survive for several days -- typically two or three -- inside a woman's body. Under ideal circumstances, however, they may remain viable for up to five days. So if sperm are deposited early -- such as during a woman's period -- they can hang around a few days, waiting until conditions are right for conception. Probability depends on the day of your period on which you had sex...since you had it all through your period the percentages go up.

Although the percentage is low there is still the chance of getting pregnant.. this is why the calander method is not an effective means of birth control. Wait three weeks or until your next period is due and then test.

Always use protection

There is no way to predict the probability even on someone who is regular, let alone someone who describes their cycle as 'sporadic'. Wait 21 days from the last time you had sex, and then test.

unfortunately there is a possibility. it just depends on if you were ovulating.
dont freakout and dont stress. or your period wont come anyways.
you just have to wait and see.

good luck!

it is highly unlikely you will get pregnant while on your period. generally, you ovulate about 14 days after the first day of your last period.
