how is she buying this stuff in your name? If she has no job, and you're paying her bills, what is her incentive to GET a job?
If she's been out of the workforce longer than the divorce has been in the works I got news for you. You're going to be paying alimony. You need to get a lawyer who won't let her push court dates or get some temporary support settlements that legally separates you from her so she can't buy stuff under your name anymore. And if she hasn't bought stuff under your name then WHY are you paying for it???

If legal papers have been filled - just stop giving her $ - tell her NO! I understand that it is much easier said then done as many woman will get very petty about finances and try to get every dollar they can. My byf's ex out and out said "I will take you for everything you had and everything you ever will have" - Well now that I am in his life - he's gottena bit ballsier & has started to tell her no - it's a hassle dealing with all her rantings and ravings - but we either let it go to voicemail or hang up or don't even answer. WHen we see her in public - we just stay very close to one another and let her even try to approach that? - LOL ;-}
The key is to be strong and say NO!

She cant make you do anything. Stop giving her money until it is court ordered. If you are not divorced yet you have no obligation to give her anything.
And if she is keeping the kids the washer/dryer is for them too. But if not, cut those strings.

The quickest way to stop a nosebleed is to sit on a chair or on the edge of your bed and firmly pinch your nose closed. Hold it closed for five to ten minutes. By stopping the flow of blood, you will give it time to clot, which usually happens in a few minutes. Don’t pack your nose with gauze or cotton, because it could pull off the clot when you remove it. And wait a while of course, to blow your nose, which could start the bleeding again. Incidentally, it’s important to lean forward on tilt your head to the side when trying to stop your nosebleed. Tilting your head backward will cause blood to drip down the back of your throat, which could make you nauseated.

You have to worry about 2 fronts. First, shut down all credit cards because they are likely under your name so there are no surprises and hide all the check books. Maybe you can find an excuse to return the appliances. But these are relatively inexpensive items. YOu need a strategy so you don't have to support her indefinitely.

She has no job, next time she asks for money take her the help wanted ads from the paper. Or get her an application for welfare. You need to stick to what the judge orders you to pay, anything more for you would be financial suicide. Good luck

I don't know if you can stop her. My boyfriend had to settle with his ex and cash in his retirement fund ($200k) in order to not have to pay $4k a month in alimony.
Fast track your divorce and try to get custody of the kids. And send her the want ads every day.
Good luck...get a good lawyer.

You should be talking to your atty. about these things, it depends on how the separation agreement was drawn up. I wouldn't be paying for anything unless the atty. says you have too.
If the papers have been filed already then she should be responsible for the bills she makes form the time of the separation through the divorce.

Speak with your lawyer about this. You do have a lawyer, don't you.
Each state has its own rules as to child support, alimony, etc.
My lawyer said to me that in a divorce, either party can be a real jerk. When one party decides to be a jerk - the other party is FORCED to be a jerk.
Sorry - but speak with your lawyer about this.
