i recently reported a case of neglect and didnt mention that I would like to remain anonymous. Will they reveal my identity?

I care because I have children and I worry this woman may retaliate.

Thankfully CT state law requires that they investigate all reports w/i 72 hours.

Protective Services will not reveal your name to the person you report. They will ask you for your name, however, to legitimate your complaint. Report it now if you truly suspect neglect or abuse. If you are doing it to be vindictive, don't.

Not only will they not reveal your name, but depending on their resources and budget, they may also not take immediate action.

Contrary to what you see on TV, CPS generally moves slowly and cautiously in this very, very delicate situation. One report may not be acted on until there is some other data to boost the priority.

No, they typically do not. They investigate the claim to see if it is substantiated and the charges go from there.

They are not legally allowed to. If they do, file a suit for violation of rights.

no they won't reveal your name, but why do you care? you did the right thing.
