I work from home but I worked in the office a long time and gained trust for the quality of my work first. My office relocated and we all agreed that there was no reason for me to move too, so I just go to the office now and then when I must attend a meeting. Once a year when the books are due I spend a few weeks there and crash at a hotel, expenses paid. I am in corporate financial management, so lot's of reading and writing and phone calls and thinking.

My sister works for an insurance company. She's a "claims adjuster" or something. She works at home too, but again, she went to the office for years first and gained that trust.

I don't know that you can start some "legitimate" job by working from home without first building your reputation for diligence. Good luck though.

I agree a lot of companies can let you work at home but after you put in some time - there.

You can always do a form of network marketing - you are your own boss so you set your own hours but you work selling someones product(S) and need to build a client base and build your own team too - you get paid on how hard you work (selling), and how much you build your team.
Rewards aren't only financial freedom it's sales trips to fun places, gifts, cars..
Just an idea - FYI.

Most of the stuff you see advertised are pure scams.

Clark Howard, a syndicated radio consumer advocate, compiled a list of those he believes are legit. I've linked to that below.

Good luck.
