Unless it is a very rare brand to begin with, an instrument that needs much work is not worth much.
If you plan on selling, take it to a repair man and ask what it would cost to repair into working order, and what it would cost to restore it with the parts that it had when first sold.

Now go to e-bay and see what like instruments are selling for, and in what condition.
Subtract double repair-cost (because a repaired instrument is worth less than one that has always been in perfect condition,) and see if there is any value left.

If you want it in playing condition again, it might be worth spending the money on, if not, offer it to e-bay as it is, or try a yard-sale, or just junk it.
