If you don't have Microsoft Word Microsoft offers several add on's. The call them Power Toys. The one you want is called Image Re-sizer. I use it along with other programs because once it is installed it is just a right mouse click away. You never have to bring up a separate program which is very handy. I use it all the time to re-size pictures. I have never gone as small as you want to do, you will need to click on advance and then custom. Book mark this site, they have many good Power Toys, I would also recommend Tweak UI.

I am not sure about whether you want to crop you image or resize it. But from your query, I think you want to resize the image.
Microsoft Office Picture Manager is a good option to do the resizing, and you might be having it on your PC since it comes with Office 2003.
I recommend using IrfanView, a popular freeware image viewing application. It uses the Lanczos filter to resize images, which means that the resized images will be of fairly good quality (i.e. if you are downsizing images). Of course you can use professional software like Adobe Photoshop, but the easiest way is to use IrfanView, which is a breeze.

you can use several programs to achieve this. Microsoft office picture manager is easy to use. Open the jpeg and on the menu options select picture... resize... then on the left pane select custom widthand fill in 160 x 120. Hope this helps

It could happen because of the resolution u saved the file into. In another name: DPI (Dot Per Inches). Check that first! As I read ur doing something for screen resolution, the size of the file indicates it. So set the DPI to 72 (that's screen resolution). DPI can be found in the MENU -> Image -> Image Size... -> Click on that An new little window appears, and on the lower side, U'll find a textbox, where the resolution is set in "pixels/inch". Have fun! =)

well if you have photoshop its easy, but I bet you dot so heres the easyer sloution. paste the photo into word and then right click and select edit photo. you can resize it but you have to find out what the downsize percent is (it works in percent of original hight/ width in inches, not pixels, but teh dow size ratio is the same (17.6%)

Jpegs tend to distort when you resize them. You might want to change your pix to a bmp before resizing.
