Well, that was what my ex sister in law said to my brother in law just before she asked for a seperation and moved out....and now they are getting divorced.

Sooo...it may not be that extreme in your case, maybe he has other things going on in his life, ask him if theres any way you can help, be supportive, and give him his space

Had he said its not you and leave out the space I would think worse of him.

At least he is admitting he needs his space.

I believe space means a lot. He may need time alone or he just may not be ready for a commitment with only one person right now. Find out from him what his intentions are.

It means he is having mixed feelings and needs time to sort it out. There is probably someone else and he has to decide now if he wants to stay with you or be with them, so maybe time to think about it all, or take a break from you and give that one a try - if it don't work then I'll be back. I'd suggest you to keep your ear close to the track, you wanna hear a train coming before it gets here.

It means he found someone else. No guy in the world needs his space, he just wants his space taken up by someone else.

It's a polite way of saying he's not interested in you and wants space to pursue other relationships.

it means he's really nice for letting someone down easily. maybe he does want his space because the girl he was dating was too much in his space( they were clingy or always bothering him) , but he must be really nice to put it that way

Unfortunately, it usually means it's over. To give men credit, they don't want to hurt our feelings, but just cannot bring themselves to tell the truth in so many words.

Chances are it really is you but he oesn't want to hurt you feelings by saying it that way, but maybe he just needs to be alone right now it could really be as simple as that :)
