I think he'll do better than Willis McGahee did last year, let's put it that way. So unless somebody jumps out of the later rounds with great numbers like Marques Colston did last year, I think that Lynch will win it. I don't think Peterson is much of a threat to win it, because Lynch is a better power runner than Peterson (watch the tape if you don't believe me), and I think Peterson will be held up for the same reasons that Reggie Bush didn't win last year--not enough carries in the beginning of the season to really get into a rhythm.

And I agree: it is totally ridiculous that VY beat Colston for rookie of the year. I was shocked and pissed off when I found out that they stole the award from Colston and gave it to a QB with more interceptions than touchdowns.

Yes, Lynch has the best shot at rookie of the year at THIS point in the year. He could get hurt, another rookie could pop up out of nowhere. If Russell or Quinn end up playing though, Lynch is screwed. There is a huge QB bias in the league...right ahead of the RB bias...MARQUES COLSTON SHOULD HAVE BEEN ROTY!!! It's just annoying. Colston, 7th round pick, one of the top WRs last season even after missing a few games.

If Lynch can get 1,200 yards and 10-14 TDs....which are probably among the best number rookies get (And Lynch will be the starter, it's very possible that he can do that well) He could get the award...just watch out for one of those QBs or the monster that is Calvin Johnson, but like I said...WRs...eh, he has a massive uphill battle to get rookie of the year...Bush couldn't even get it after being so beloved.

I think it's certainly a possibility, but his hopes are toast if any QB ever steps up and plays while his team wins...like last year with VY where he got bailed out by his teammates and is now considered by some as a top-ten QB despite his league-worst passer rating....

But yeah...Lynch certainly has a supporting cast(Losman, Evans, one of the best left sides in football with Peters and Dockery) and less of a prospect of sharing a significant number of carries...

Once Marshawn gets a pocketfull of money his off field issues will re-appear and I don't think Marv"the antique" will tolerate them.

Nope, he will succumb to some sort of injury and be a huge bust of the 07 draft.
