I need to look up information at certain websites, but I can not get through to them. Does anybody know any sites to go around the proxy settings?

You should be aware that these proxys can act as an Evil Twin as sometimes found in wireless networks. They can steal your passwords and copy everything in and out of your computer. Just think about it! Why would anybody go to the expense of setting up a proxy service unless they could make some quick cash for doing it?

There's a reason they're blocked, but I remember how school was when I was there. They block a chunk of websites and don't realize they're blocking things with good information while they're at it. You'll need to talk to the Administrator or to someone who can contact the Administrator.

Otherwise, you could get caught, giving them more reason to keep blocking these sites, not to mention any repercussions that can come to you. The administrator can see what websites are visited, including these proxy websites and they know what those are for.

firewalls are there in schools for a reason. If websites are being blocked, there's probably a good reason for that. If you feel as though you absolutely need to visit the website, talk to the Librarian or whoever has access to the firewall and ask them to unblock the website.

I would be willing to bet this is against the schools fair use policy and you would in essence be violating that in which they have the rights to remove your connection.

I would read over the usage policy before trying to circumvent their security features and contact a technical representative of the school and see if they can temporarily add the site you want to go to to their whitelist.

Messing around with the security system that both schools and work places use, will result in you getting into trouble. Schools will have the right to expell or suspend you and work can fire you. If they have it blocked, it's blocked for good reason. Save it for when your at home.

If you need to look up information, just ask your teacher to allow you access (that is if the information is school-related).
