Don't worry about gaining weight. Eat what you want, when you want and the weight will come. You're only 12 weeks...pretty soon the doc will tell you you're gaining too much!

I actually had a nurse tell me to eat lots of pizza : ) But really it is pretty normal to not gain weight until after 12 weeks. Average weight gain at that point is only a couple pounds anyway. Track your calories and eat at least 2100/day, that should do the trick.

I only gained 12 pounds through-out my entire pregnancy and gave birth to a completely healthy 8 lb baby girl. I just ate when I was hungry. I had a craving for canned vegetable soup so i ate it a lot and that is a pretty healthy choice. Good Luck!

don't worry about is too much. I have heard that some people loose weight in the first trimester. I lost weight but now that I am in the second trimester I can feel the weight gain. just eat three healthy meals a day and two healthy snacks. As long as you are not trying to loose weight or not eating anything baby will be fine.

I don't know why your doc is yelling its normal to lose a few lbs in your first tri. Stick to eating healthy stay away from a lot of carbs and sugar since they stick to ya after you have the baby. Try adding protein shakes/drinks to your diet. (boost etc) Evening drinking something like carnation instant breakfast with a snack or your breakfast will help. Eat at least 5x a day (3 meals and 2 snacks)

Put more protein rich foods into your diet. Craving a steak? Eat one! That sort of thing. I also would not keep a doctor that yelled at me, so maybe you should look in to finding a new one. Most women lose weight or don't gain during the first trimester. Unless you are underweight to begin with, your doc's a quack.

Make sure you're eating at least 2300 calories a day. If you're doing that...there's really nothing to worry about. Everyone gains weight differently. I'm 20 weeks and I've only gained 6 pounds, and I KNOW I'm eating right!

Bless your heart. If you gained five pounds he probably would have yelled at you too. Relax. Eat things that are healthy. Complex carbohydrates work well. Eat fruits and vegetables as well. There's no point in gaining fat. you want the baby to grow.

boost protein drinks, they have 360 calories per can. why didn`t your doctor tell you about these drinks if he is so concern about your weight? He does not sound like a very nice guy. my doctor told me , if i didn`t start gaining weight i would have to go on boost drinks, I told him it my 4th pregnancy and you know i don`t gain weight till towards the end of my pregnancy. I`m 5`7 i started out weighing 114lb, now at 27 weeks i weigh 128lb, so don`t worry the weight does come on gradually
congratulation on your pregnancy

It seems like the docs are never satisfied. During my last pregnancy, I wasn't gaining enough to keep her happy. During this pregnancy, I'm gaining too much. As long as your eating healthy and drinking lots of water, you and your baby will be fine.
