Probably the big one would be Kurt Angle. He was released as he wanted a lighter work schedule & is why he's on TNA - a lighter workload there.Had he been fit enough he'd be challenging for the world WWE title today on a regular basis & firmly at the top.
Same goes for Brock Lesnar altho he left of his own accord to try out for the NFL.He's be champ or at least challenging for it.
Christy Hemme going was a bad move tho we get to see her on TNA.The storyliners had no angle or story for her & she wasn't gettting a push so WWE let her go.Madness.

Juventud - What were they thinking? Juvy, sure, was an asshole backstage, but still very talented.
Muhammed Hassan - Very talented wrestler, very believable (He really looks Muslim)
David Flair - He could've had a push with his dad.
Rico - with the addition of the ECW, he could've came back as Nova. Good to see him as a trainer.
Daniel Puder - This guy is an animal. He would have left a huge impact on wrestling his style. Basically a young Angle.
Lastly, Kurt Angle. WWE had lost the future of wrestling. Angle was the epitome of shoot style, and he helped push many others down the road. Definitely a future NWA champion.

To me the release of Mark Copani, aka Muhammad Hassan, was the biggest disappointment. WWE had the chance of using a Muslim character to make a very positive statement of redemption and hard work, but they opted to head down a very stereotypical route with making him a baddie and then having an almost terrorist gimmick. We will never know how great this talent could have been if WWE had pushed him in the right direction. He could have been amazing because he was certainly a great talker and very good in the ring.

Kurt Angle (one of the best ever.... enough said)
The Big Show (THE big man of professional wrestling, khali is a joke by comparison)
Chris Jericho (i know he left, but still a loss of great proportions, he was an AWESOME wrestler and showman)
Rhyno (great wrestler)
Nathan Jones (SUCH a loss of potential, witha good gimmick he could have been a kane or undertaker of the future, one of the strongest men i have ever seen, and hes not afraid to get hurt)
Matt Morgan (just like a nathan, a big man of the future, plenty of talent, he could sell moves.... and hes very athletic)
Test (awesome big man, awesome wrestler)
there are more, but i cant think right now....
@jas, maybe the big show wasnt released!, but brock certainly wasnt! and hes in your list!)

Joey Murcery was a disappointing release. I wanted to see MNM vs. The Hardys for a while in different types of matches. As for an impact he was not an impact player.

It has to be Rhyno.
He threw a flower pot and was released on the spot, where Orton causes 50,000 dollars of damage to a hotel and keeps his job.
If you've seen him in TNA, you know that Rhyno has a lot of charisma, and is very entertaining to watch.
He could have been a huge star in the WWE.....

Kurt angle.. technical wrestlers are a dying breed, losing out to the more typical high flyers, power houses, flashy, cocky, meat heads... and if they ever let benoit go.. that would be a huge mistake....
