Its going to be alot easier on you if you lose weight now, only because with more weight added on yourself you have alot more complications that could occur. But while I was pregnant with my second child, I excersized and watched what I ate( mainly vegatables and lean meats along with daily vitamins and folic acid.), with my doctors approval and close cruitiny and was able to lose in a healthy way an extra 20 pds besides the weight of the baby. He is and has been a very healthy child and I attribute this to his healthy start. Its more comfortable and healthier for you and your baby to be in the best physical condition possible.

You have to ask yourself and your doctor-am I overweight or underweight now? If not you should not lose weight first. On the other hand if you are underweight now, it may be harder to get and maintain a pregnancy. I would first discuss it with the doctor. Follow his/her instructions regarding your weight. Being over or underweight can be a problem in getting pregnant and maintaining the pregnancy but if you are underweight and get pregnant you can afford to gain a little extra while pregnant-if you are not diabetic or have other health issues. The more you gain tho, the harder it is to get it off after, especially if you are over 30, smoke, dont have a proper diet and exercise routine, or are too stressed-and having a new baby in the house can be very stressful in itself! You need enough weight gain during pregnancy for your baby to be healthy and strong plus the weight gain helps protect your baby from the outside world as well as supplying proper nutrition to your own body. What Im saying is if you are a normal healthy weight now, I wouldnt worry about it. Just talk with your doctor and see what is said. I hope this helps.

If you are over weight it does make sense ~ you run the risk of some health issues like gestational diabetes among others if you are over weight to begin with. It's always healthy to lose some weight if you have it to lose, but you shouldn't try to lose weight just to avoid gaining some when your pregnant...it just doesn't work that way!
Good luck =)

Depends on if your weight/health can affect the pregnancy. If youre doing it for health Id say yes, if its just a couple of pounds for appearance probably not.
Plus you'll never know how your first trimester will effect you. Some women are so sick, stomach and headaches, it makes it hard to eat and they actually lose weight. This was true for me, then I hit my second trimester with an intense craving for Captain Crunchberries, and that all changed.

You should eat healthy but don't try to lose weight until after the baby quits nursing. Nursing actually helps you lose weight.

If you loose weight now it will make your pregnancy easier. However, you will have to loose again after the baby comes. I know that my stepsister walked a lot during her pregnancy (she did not have a car). She is very tiny and had a 8 lb baby with not too much pain. It may have just been her but I think the walking had a lot to do with it,

Well, if you are not at a healthy weight, I would recommend losing some pounds. Being healthy will maximize your chances of fertility and conception. I stopped drinking pop and lost ten pounds before I got pregnant with my daughter.

I think so. That's weight you won't have to worry about losing when the baby is born

If you're pregnant now, you do not want to lose weight. You'll have plenty of time to do that later on. If you're not pregnant now, you may want to keep your weight in check, so you won't have so much to lose later.
