Maybe give her a coupon from you for a special time for JUST the two of you to go to Build A Bear Workshop, or something that would be special... like tea at a restaurant, shopping for clothes, etc...whatever she's into.

How much can you afford? My girl's 4, but she loves listening to music with head phones on. Or how 'bout jeep of some kind? Does she have a bike? Little girls love make up and purses! Hmm, what else. My daughter plays games on the computer all the time, you could get her some age appropriate computer games. Let's see. Sidewalk chalk, jump rope, hula hoop?

dont get her any dolls and no more big bulky toys that you trip over in the middle of the night. Take her out for a movie. Most kids that age get so many presents from family and all those presents are going to eventually make ya mad because it's taking up space. She can tell her friends proudly that "Mama took me to the movies and ddn't get me something I won't play with anymore in a few months."

4 children?! i admire you!!
well you may be bored with barbie and bratz but your little girl surely isn't.
and i bet she has definitely made some suggestions or at least an "wow i like that" during a commercial
my 5 year old sister loves barbie movies and anything that has to do with 'my little pony'.
happy birthday to her!!

what about a WWF years subscription to look after an endangered animal? You get a cuddly toy of that animal (or could buy a bigger one), and then could take her to the zoo to visit the animal. I'm sure she'd then cherish the toy, you'd be educating her, and could even encourage her to 'write' to her animal every now and again to see how it was doing? It'd keep her entertained, and you know that you're giving to a good cause too....?

I don't know what the weather is like were you are but right now my grandkids can't get enough of playing outside, so a combo of sidewalk chalk, all kinds of bubble blowing stuff, riding toys, hoola hoop, jump rope, balls (and a hoop to shoot at), wiffle bat and ball.
Well I think you get the picture! Good Luck and congrats are your 5 gals!

Dress up stuff! Argos used to do a set of clothes in a box or a pack of 6 pairs of shoes! Little girls love dressing up (come to think of it so do big girls lol) or if you are feeling brave how about some kids make up?

Money permitting.
Take her and a friend to see a favourite children's show at the local theatre
I guarantee she will love the children's participation bit
***edit***
Ahh, you never mentioned the lodgers.
Never mind others have given you some good ideas
