I ask you this. Are you comfortable in saying that we should conform to other countries' norms? Or should we be moral leaders. I have a hard time saying "We believe in equality and equal rights, but we won't elect a woman because others don't like it." What if other countries didn't like a black leader or a Protestant? Would we vote with these prejudices?
Look I'm not the biggest Hillary fan in the world either, but I'm just saying. We need to lead, not follow.

Seeing your answers I can only despair.
In a man the same qualities would be described as "businesslike, firm and assertive", in a woman they are "charmless and shrewish".
Even US women use these double standards., what do you expect of your run-of-the-mill macho?
I can only come to the conclusion that socialisation in the US is still strictly enforcing the old gender roles, and that women are still considered second class although political correctness has ensured that this fact is never mentioned. That is the problem, not the gender of a prospective president.
Look at Mrs Thatcher, she never had a problem dealing with any foreigners, diplomatically or otherwise.;-)

There's been no war declared against anyone (terrorism is not a country). There hasn't been a war since 1945. This is just america justifying using the military. Hillary main thrust is to withdraw from these actions when elected. Reagan also used diplomacy and communication to settle his disputes not brute force

why will hillarious lose? becuase she/he is only interested in her parties unquenchable thirst for power at the cost of this countries security.diplomacy only works if the other side is willing to talk.want a real woman president? try condy rice,a great morally responsible woman and black! talk about getting two birds with one stone! she's got my vote.p.s: i am a persian gulf veteran , i know how muslims think! a true muslim follows the 'quran' ; so if you won't convert to islam' your only recourse is death.it won't matter if your dem or rep.so always remember 9/11--- becuase hillary has already forgotten---4 out of 5 terrorists agree--a democrat majority is best for worldwide victory------------

I don't think that Hillary will lose because she is a woman. I do, however, think she will lose. She is too polarizing.
Your point about Condaleeza Rice, is valid. I think that many countries have trouble dealing with women.

It does NOT matter who is the next president. When Bush is removed from office, immediately the islamic world will destroy America. Why are they waiting for Bush to leave? Because Bush has done all they asked of him. He came against Israel, he helped persecute Jews, and he brougt more muslims into America then any president in America's entire history. To put it in fewer words? Bush has done more to destroy America for his moronic, idiot's fantasy of America as nothing more then a state in hsi "New World Order" fantasy. He's destroyed america, and she can never recover. She will be destroyed right after Bush leaves the office he stole. Am I a prophet? Heck no, I just watch the evil idiocy. Christians helping destroy freedom in the world, in yashke's name. *spit* Sick. But you know what? It is sick, but it is sad of the xtians. So sad. I pity them, the smallest and quickest shrinking religion in the entire world. If you look at them, you can easily see why.

If she wins it's because she was pre-picked by the warmongering global elites to win
If she loses, it will be because Americans (80% of whom are against this war) have finally woken up to the fact that she is just as much of a warmonger as her husband and George Bush.
RON PAUL FOR 2008!!!!

If Hillary loses it will be because she is not qualified..politically or morally...being a woman will not be a deciding factor.
and yes I believe Condi being a woman did play a part in being walked out on...after all the middle east is very prejudiced...after all she was AMERICAN, how dare she be a woman too...

I think she'll lose because the GOP can rally folks big time to vote against her. As much as Clinton was hated in many quarters, Senator Clinton is loathed in more. She is the GOP's best weapon for victory in 2008.
And I'll vote for her if she's on the ticket.
