Why is Crossing Jordan the season finale next week?

NBC did not start showing it till Jan 07/ & now the finale is next week ?? did they not tape the whole 22 shows what gives??? any body know ??

It is on the bubble for possible cancellation. So, they did not tape 22 episodes this year.
We'll see if it survives.

Not sure why. Yet I see on that the number of episodes in Season 3 were only 13 episodes.
