Will it take away any files that you don't want or need ?
Will it take away photos that have been downloaded ?

Disk Cleanup cleans out all the temporary Internet files. Offline web pages and so forth.

For example when you visit a website, it saves them in the temporary Internet files. Always a good idea to clean it up, you can see how much space its taking up.

No it won't take away photos you have downloaded. Make sure you check the appropriate boxes. Before you begin.

Disk cleanup will clean your disk from unwanted files...
But it won't take any photos thay you have been downloaded, (unless you put them onto Recycling bin) neither it will take away any unwanted files...(if you send therm to Recycling it will>

it clears a number of temporary saved things (like internet cache, TEMP files, and cookies). It does not remove files like pictures.

Before it runs it will give you a checklist of what it is planning to remove and how much space that would save.
