I really like the font used on the poster and am trying to find the name of it... I thought it was Bauhaus.. but its different.. if anyone could tell the name of it I'd be most greatfull!

I think your hunch is correct, it is Bauhaus. It is "Bauhaus Demi" - part of Bauhaus type family (eg. Bauhaus Light, Medium, Demi, Bold and Heavy)
By the way, I believe the poster typeface has been stretch vertically.
