Let's face it, folks! There are hypocrites of ALL political stripes, so we might as well get used to the fact and stop focusing on each other's hypocrisies!

John L: Yes, I am focusing on hypocrisy, but not just that of the other party. I'm also focusing on the hypocrisy of some of the members of my own party!

Earnie: I wasn't criticizing YOUR mastery of the English language. I was criticizing Bush's! I know that you're a Bush supporter, but my comment wasn't about you!Touché!:)

Because that would be finding common ground. There are people on here who are not interested in common ground, or common sense. It's all about the politics.

I see it, but I don't really see "sides" anyway.
--I run on questions from people who assume there are 'sides' often because it's fun, but in actuality many of us, for the most part, are around the same area politically.
The rhetoric is divisive,
but in fact most agree on most things when it comes down to it.
People go all across the political spectrum,
Only those who are ill informed see things in true 'black and white' or rather 'right and left'.
In reality, it's much more complex than that,
Are you an authoritarian conservative all the way to the extreme of Fascism,
or are you a libertarian so far to the right that you are considered neo-liberal,
are you in the middle of the libertarian left or an authoritarian leftist to the extreme of communism?
Most people are anywhere in a range in between and are very rarely the extremes of anarchy, communism or fascism.
I think many Republicans would actually be shocked at how much they are NOT as right winged as they thought.

Of course there is. Left side thinks only right is bad and right aside thinks only left is bad.
Look at Earnest's question and you will see a good example. Both sides throw out insults and he is saying this is shameful but he only yells at the liberals...he totally ignores the very same behavior from the conservatives and when called on it all he could say was that it is "juvenile" to point out the stark inequity. Letting one group get away with shameful behavior while yelling at the other group for it is hypocrisy. There were also answers basically saying that it was ok for liberals to bash and any actions to act more mature must come from conservatives..this is also hypocrisy

Good question. I am a left wing democrat, age 10, and I look at the Republican Party and say, "If they can't stand Gay marriage, why do they like NAFTA?" Then I look at it from the other side and think, "If democrats hate NAFTA, and want to destroy monopoly, how come they're called "Liberals?" Sure, there's a Republican scandal every day and I hate Bush, but the Democratic Party, though most of them have more integrity, also are hypocrites.

I'm sure people see it, they just choose to ignore some hypocrisy. They are either so polarized in their position or so hateful of opposing opinion that they don't care about hypocrits of their political leanings.

I do...I am a Democrat, but I think Al Gore needs to quit flying around in jets while he preaches about global warming, and I think John Edwards needs to quit saying he is in touch with the poor in America and then get $400 haircuts and go back to his 28,000 square foot home. It embarrasses me as a Democrat that these guys do this. I liked Edwards the last time around, but cannot support him this time

National politics is about what words can be used to get elected and invogorate voter turnout. Some democrats sound so darned uninformed once they are in office it is disgusting, and, some republicans say no new taxes and smaller government like a mantra, and, once in, spend like a drunk on holiday...yup, you are correct.

Judging by your answers so far, some people never will!
However, even though it may make me just as guilty, I have noticed that most of the people being hypocrites in your question are, in fact, conservatives.
