I answered a question similar to this a couple of days ago, and actually got Best Answer for it. I've just copied and pasted what I said then, so please don't award me Best Answer, it'd feel like cheating, getting two Best Answers for te same answer! Oh, by the way, all of them except Tamora Pierce are Australian, so if you live in the US or somewhere they might not be as popular or even available. But they are all top quality. Believe me, I am a qualified bookworm, I would know!
I thought The Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind was ALOT like Eragon, very similar plot, but extremely good.
I think someone else mentioned Tamora Pierce, she is a MUST READ, I personally recommend her Circle of Magic Series to all my friends, and I've never gotten a negative opinion about them.
Emily Rodda is my favourite author, mostly cos she ties the plot together so well and I love the riddles, Deltora Quest series and Rowan of Rin series are fantastic.
The Rangers Apprentice Series by John Flanagan is great, not really based on magic but set in the same time and you'd have to call it fantasy. Someone described it to me like that and I kinda thought "nah, no magic, not my type of thing" but I LOVED it.
Isobelle Carmody's Obernewtyn Series is amazing, a fantasy set in the future and it not only has a good plot but some interesting concepts too.
Trudi Canavan has written two good series, The Black Magician Trilogy and the Age of the Five trilogy. In both, it is really hard to get into them, the first books are so boring, but once you get into the second things start picking up and you'll really enjoy it.
Well the books in my Answer alone should last you at least a month (if you read at my rate) not to mention everyone else's Answers so I won't go on! Good luck, enjoy your reading!

I would recommend the following:
ANYTHING by Robin McKinley: The Blue Sword, The Hero and the Crown, any of her re-told fairy tales
The Belgariad, by David Eddings (5 books), plus all the sequels
Eyes of the Dragon (by Steven King)
Dealing with Dragons (Patricia C. Wrede) and the sequels
These are all appropriate for 15-year-olds--I know because I read them all at around that age :)

uh.... that was all I had... I do have another good story a 15 year old just has to read, and you could call it fantasy.. but it is more of an adventure. The letter for the king, and The secrets of the wild forest. both from Tonke Dragt. Wonderful stories. Written for children, but I as an adult still re-read them... just on a rainy afternoon... wonderful. :)

Hi, Shadowfax, I wrote a poem about you yesterday evening. Here's a bit of it:
Long ago you found me
I remember well the way
My fingers hesitated then
To gently touch your mane.
And then, he called you "Shadowfax,"
It sounded strange to me:
A name to represent the dark,
For you, so bright, and free.
:-)
You might try hmmm.......The Children of Hurin (new Tolkien book, which just came out. I know, Tolkien died decades ago, but his son compiled some other work of his), Roverandom (also by Tolkien), King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, The Lady of Shallott, etc.
