There are a few species of river dolphins that live in fresh water. The pink dolphins live in the Amazon River. Mekong River is among the rivers that have dolphins. Fresh water dolphins are becoming extremely rare due to the pollution and our exploitation of rivers. I can only guess that the Mississippi and Nile have them as well. Bottlenose Dolphins would be found in salt water, not fresh water.

Mississippi river, bottle nose dolphins normally found in salt water can be found in the mississippi. the amazon river dolphins are a type of freshwater dolphins and are never in salt. Bottlenose dolphins are the only saltwater dolphins you can find in freshwater because of how the mississippi water mixes at the mouth.

Actually it's the Amazon, and they are pink. I believe there are actually two separate species, but it may be only color phases of one. These are totally freshwater animals and live hundreds of miles from any salt water.
