The world will officially end as we know it...being sucked into the sun which will have turned into a nova. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, for that matter, we humans will have been long gone! We human beings think we have the power to destroy this planet.....nah.....We probably will destroy ourselves either thru nuclear devastation (hopefully not) or by messing up the ecology to the point to where earth is uninhabitable.....but good old earth will clean itself up, like it has done before....the cockroaches will emerge, like they have done before, and who knows what kind of species will have the opportunity to mess up a good thing again. My hope, as crazy as it sounds is that we will all "wake up" realize that this is all just such a beautiful gift that we have trashed....and maybe turn it around so that it can be the paradise it was meant to be......You know what? My world is still beautiful...I just look in the right places!

We could find out orbital periods and trajectories of comments and calculate when one would hit the earth and cause utter distruction. Addtinoally our sun will turn into a red giant millions of years from now and gobble up the earth.
