OK, long story short...

A friend from work found a video Ipod and now wants to sell it to me for $50. He knew I was looking for one for my kid for a bitrthday gift. They sell for about $250 at the store. I looked at the ipod and its in good shape, and has a lot of music and video on it. What should I do? If I say no, the next person will surley buy it, and If I say yes.. Ill feel bad b/c someone lost it? He already told me he was not going to turn it in to lost and found, and he needs the money. Upon looking at it more, I found a name in it, and nobody at work has that name. So it must be a customers. Any idea's? And yes.. I talked to him about turning it in, hes not going to do that. He said, he will go to ebay if he has to.

Well, this is a hard one. But chances are its not going to get back to tis owner, even if you dont buy it. Hes going to sell it on ebay it sounds like it, and get even more than what you are being offered. Id buy it, yeah. He thought about you first and should not of put you on the spot, but on the other hand, you will end up with a great deal. I paid 250 for mine went it came out. Also, you might want to check out, lostipod.com. Good luck.

Did the guy even try to find out who's it was? I wouldn't but it...first because he might have said he found it and actually stole it...second if he did find it he should try to return it...and thrid if there is alot of music and video on it maybe there are some thigns on there you wouldn't want your child to have and don't you need a program to get music and such on it from the downloads? I would think twice before buying it. Maybe a new one would be better. We got my sons for about 189 at wal-mart.

See if you can locate the person who's name you found in it, they will be very grateful,
you will feel better, so far as your co-worker he is the one with the problem.
Ask him how he would feel if he had lost his phone...Do the right thing.....you may even get a reward.
Either way be a better person.....sometimes you get what you pay for...the person may have been kidnapped, desperate,
and something that you can help with....Be a nice person.

if you can spare the 50, do so. then return it to the owner with telling how you got it.... who knows, they might compensate you... your conscience will be alright and maybe the old owner has already bought a new one and gives you permission to keep it.... everybody happy... who knows... but if letting your friend sell it on gives you bad conscious already... then you should do the best thing you can do, which is snatch it from the hands of the wrong person and try to deliver it to the owner. who knows it might be someone who needs the thing desperately... I would... I go to hospital a lot and I would be lost without mine... so please do the best thing?

Stand by your morals. You will sleep much better at night. I sure feel bad for the kid who lost it.

this is bacically a stolen item. so don't buy it from him. a full priced one might be expensive, but u'll feel better buying it, then accepting someone elses one. ur friend should have handed it in at work and should have not put you in this position anyways.
