If you read the stories - I think they had all the weaknesses of human beings and I think the Greeks accepted this - they were just like more powerful human beings.

The Greeks were very intelligent although they were not really united like Romans were.
They always were fighting over who was the greater and between the major cities there was jealousy.
Have a close look at the way their history unfolds in their administration of power.

Every god/goddess had some sort of weakness. The ancient Greeks made them that way so they could better Identify with their gods. Zeus cheated on his wife several times. Hera (his wife) was insanely jealous. Aphrodite was very vain. hope that helps. Hephaestus(Aphrodite's husband) had a terrible temper.
hope this helped

The greatest weakness of the Greek Gods were their tendencies to have human traits. they were petty, spiteful children at times who indulged themselves far too much, and that left them vulnerable.
