You fail to mention if you even have an antivirus software installed. If so have you scanned your pc for the virus. If you don't have one installed here is a free excellent antivirus from AOL, Active Virus Shield powered by Karpersky Labs, Russia rated #1 in the world for virus detection. You get auto updates every hour on the hour, plus background scanner. Just give AOL, your email and they will send you our key good for one year. After the one year just request a new key.

The "System alert" balloon is a scam. They are trying to swindle you. DO NOT BUY THE SOFTWARE, AS IT WILL DO NOTHING!

Your computer is probably infected by the Smitfraud infection. Almost all "general purpose","all-in one" spyware and virus removal programs such as AVG, Norton, or Spybot S & D cannot remove it.

To remove the SmitFraud infection here, download the free, specialised tool called SmitFraudFix v2.126 and follow the procedure.

And here is another removal tool and procedure to remove Smitfraud:

Good luck.

What you have is called a "rogue scanner". It is a type of spyware. Usually Skybot Seek&Destroy (free at http:download.com ) can clean those.

If not, repost the exact page to which it is taking you, and we can recommend a cleaner for that specific rogue.
