Help me, my wife doesn't understand me! when I get home from work all I want to do is sit in the back room and play guitar or carve some wood with my swiss army knife, I need help on how to keep her off my back and stop her leaving clutter on top of the microwave which I find annoying whilst I'm strumming or carving to the point that it distracts me - how can I make her understand?

You don't deserve a wife the way you sound.
She'll probable leave you quite soon unless you buck your ideas up and start living a married life.
A bit of a quiet sit down once you get home is one thing, but to lock yourself away for the evening to "play guitar or carve some wood" is heading for sheer disaster.

I'm guessing your wife doesn't go out to work and is bored, and you coming home is the highlight of her day. Encourage her to get some hobbies, or work. You need time to yourself as well as time together. Maybe if she knew there was an evening during the week when you could do stuff together, she would give you some space.

No offense. That's how most men are. Maybe if you helped her out some (a woman's job is never ending) or spent a little time with her (to let her know she's important to you and appreciated) you'd get further. She does need to know you need down time. So does she. If she smothers you, I doubt you two will last. Relationships are give and take. Everyone needs their space. It's not healthy not to have other interest and friends.

Have you actually tried talking to her? You married her and have obligations to her well being and well as she to yours. Any partnership should be based on mutual repect, even 'The Surrendered Wife' points out that the male has obligations to his partner.

Give her respect and she will give some right back.

No offence but it sounds like you're totally selfish! If you were my husband you would be driving me to despair too! Maybe you should try paying her a bit of attention instead of just doing what you enjoy regardless of her feelings!

buy her a cowboy hat and give her a kiss - then just remove the things from the microwave - and put some barbed wire on top - then nothing else can be put on top.

Gosh it sounds so difficult being you. I'm guessing that clutter won't be your only problem if you don't start appreciating your wife.

You have to tell her that SHE is driving you to despair, see if you can compromise. Communication is the key to a long lasting relationship!!!!
