I mean what do you personally understand when you hear the term, and what do you mean when you use it?

And do you consider yourself to be patriotic?

patriotism means taking responsibility as a voter to know the issues in depth, not vote sound bites and infantile slogans or single issue votes. Patriotism means encouraging dissent and oversight of our political leaders, not being loyal little drones content to follow bad leaders into the pits of hell.

I agree with the Historian/Poet Livy, who said that the highest form of patriotism was a love of the land itself. That's how I feel about England.

Loving your country and standing by it no matter what. Even if you have idiots for leaders you still love your country.
