"I had already forgotten it if you haven't mentioned it."

Is this sentence correct? Is it ok that there is a past perfect and present perfect tense in the same sentence? Do the two tenses have to be the same? Thanks!

The following is a fill in the correct tense in the blank question.

"I ___ already ____ it if you haven't mentioned it. "

The answer in the back of the book for the 2 blanks are "had" and "forgotten".
The answer doesn't sound right to me. Can someone tell me if it's grammatically correct or if it's a typo?
Can a grammatically correct sentence contain both present perfect and past perfect tense? thanks!

"I had already forgotten" is correct. It is the end that doesn't work.

"I had already forgotten it if you hadn't mentioned it."

Better yet

"I had already forgotten it until you mentioned it"

or

"I would have forgotten it if you hadn't mentioned it."
