He will bridge the racial divide by being elected President. If he is able to get a majority of voters to look at the person instead of their race it will have been accomplished and we will all be better for it.

There isn't much of a racial divide in mainstream America. Most middle of the road Americans could care less any more. As far as they are concerned, racism isn't part of their lives, other than reading about it in the newspaper. The racial divide is in the extremist part of the spectrum (both sides) which is not likely to change for much of any reason other than death.

Obama seems to be a good person, with sincere views that ring true. Unfortunately for his chances for election, they also ring of a fairly far-left philosophy that will alienate a fairly significant portion of the moderates, probably enough to ensure that he has no chance of winnning a general election. His views on gun control alone will push any conservative-leaning moderate to vote for almost anyone else.

In a Democracy where Blacks comprise 11% of the population..
Obama, as a Black, is an inappropriate candidate for President.
As an American however, he is highly qualified.

As long as the questions are framed around race (and sex in Hillary's case) elections will be a question of race and sex and not political philosophy and ability.

WHY.....oh why do we (the USA) have to be a multi-cultural society???

Aren't we and the new LEGAL immigrants AMERICANS ?????
No hyphenation required.......or founding fathers didn't find it necessary, why should we???

Multi-culturalism WILL DESTROY America.
History has proven this FACT time and time again......

I think that he is intelligent, idealistic, and poignant enough to pull off such a thing.

If Gore doesn't come back to take what is his, than Barack Obama will win in 2008 and we will be so much better for it.

No, it is apparent from all he says that he will be a President to the Blacks. Our Country will become more divided than it is now.

Not because he is black but because he is the wrong black for this Country.
