English was my first, then I learned Spanish. Later I picked up Latin, Italian and Anglo-Saxon. There's not a lot of reason to speak Latin or Anglo-Saxon, given that I'm not a Catholic priest pre-Vatican 2 and I'm not a Viking. I could get around in Madrid or Rome, if need be.
