call the bbb (better buisness beureau) something like that, and have them query this shop to see if there are any open complaints against them.
it sounds like he is scamming you-did you bring the car to him for a transmission check? go to another shop and ask them to check for you-dont tell them someone has said its busted.

The Lemon regulation pertains to new autos which have an surprisingly severe quantity of provider and restoration for the time of their first months of possession. Used autos are actually not lined via the form of guarantee equipment from the production facility or broking. you're regrettably experiencing why you're able to continually have motor vehicle thoroughly checked over via a qualified mechanic till now committing to purchase. the only recourse you're able to probable have is to take the motor vehicle to a mechanic and have them thoroughly look into the transmission. in the event that they locate that the trans became into altered or patched in this way of way so as that it would in basic terms final an extremely short quantity of time you're arranged to sue the former owners for maintenance. In some states it is a criminal offense to knowingly sell a motor vehicle that has considerable mechanical issues of out informing the flair shopper of the mandatory maintenance. it is a protracted shot, yet may be nicely well worth the prospect. stable success.

Your not providing enough information for me to answer this question accurately.
With the age of the vehicle in question it is entirely possible for murphys law to kick in. Has the transmission been frequently serviced? Why was the vehicle taken into the shop to begin with? Was any service preformed on the transmission while it was in the shop?
When a transmission goes without being serviced for the life of the unit the transmission fluid itself becomes very burnt. When this happens debris and burn material are picked up the the fluid. This causes lots of wear on the internal transmission parts and can cause premature failure.

Hey looks like the 19 year old car's transmission just failed Sounds like you had the timing belt changed and valve cover gasket and waterpump replaced. Then when the mechanic drove your car the transmission died. What would have been better you driving out and have it fail on you? Your decision replace the trans and hope you can sell or give this car to your kids. You have already spent the down payment on that new car. Your old trusty honda actually is unsafe by todays standards. New Civic is roomier drives better has more power gets better gasmileage and mulit air bags in there to protect you.

Well, it looks like you had a question, and in adding information started a new question rather than go back and add comments to your question.
You might want to delete this, get your points back, go back to the original question and add these details there.
