I don't know that there is a perfect gift because each mother has different tastes and interests. My mother passed away several years ago.
My mother-in-law loves candles. She burns them all the time. So we generally get her a big box of assorted candles and a card and this year she's having a room added on her house so we're giving her a small check to help with the expenses.

The perfect gift for me would be to be able to sleep in, have breakfast in bed, and have my kids not fight all day long!

Pj's, slippers, perfume, jewel box
gift voucher to a massage place, with facial, hand and foot massage.

depends on how old you are, how much money you have, how close you are to your mother, what your mother enjoys getting, and the age of your mother. Flowers would suffice.

i get perennials and flower bulbs
i have my love garden and they come up every yr
it is great to see them bloom every yr and it reminds me just how much our love has grown and how much i love my family
