Wisconsin has it down. This is exactly how I think welfare should work, Tommy Thompson has my vote

Joe M- the project puts them to work and provides them with food and money, as well as educates them so people who truely want/need help and have a desire to better themselves to take control of their lives can get a better job down the road. the only people it harms are the lazy leachces. it helps people get their life on course, and the only people harmed are those that dont want to do anything and want society to give them a free handout. In my opinion I think Jesus would approve.

as you can see, the welfare roll went from 34,000 to 6,000 once the ended the free-handout welfare. shows that 6 out of 7 welfare people just want everything handed to them on a silver platter without doing anything

Sounds good to me. It's a hand-up, not a hand-out.

There is NO good welfare program. It has never been, is not now and will never be the responsibility of the productive people to pay the way for non-productive people through a government program or administration.

i always figured someone should not get any welfare if there is even one job in the want ads, if i can open up the paper and see a position for a janitor or at walmart, no welfare for you, go apply for a job

It's what Bill Clinton did. Get the able bodied people off the welfare system and back to work.
Bill Clinton did more for welfare reform then any republican did.
Goggle it.

I like the idea but don't forget there are alot of lazy bastards out there that just want a handout and will continue to get fired or quit their jobs. They'll probably end up moving to another state so they can get a free paycheck for sitting on their asses.

The key phrases in there are check AND childcare. We need to support gov't sponsored day care to make it successful on a nationwide basis.

Jesus himself said it best.

'What you do to the least of these you do to me.'

Feed the poor.

House the homeless.

Heal the sick.
