Hitler's control was his Messianic message // millions of Germans desperately wanted to believe that Hitler would guide Germany to greatness. Millions of Germans voted to strip themselves of basic civil liberties in order to follow Hitler. Hitler was beloved by a powerful cliche of thugs - - - among them Herman Goring a World War One Ace and Salesman for several aviation firms, Alfred Rosenthal a psuedo intellectual, Josef Goebbels a failed writer, Heinrich Himmler son of a solid middle class family himself a proud chicken farmer, and many others willing to fight and perhaps die for Hitler.
Hitler's Party, The Nazi's fought a six year battle to gain enough seats in Germany's Reighstag to be a serious power, though they still had to forge alliances wiith several other parties, Unlike America with its two ruling parties, Germany then as now played host to several political parties.
The leadership of two of those parties opted for Hitler and helped to persuade Germany's President to appoint Hitler Chancellor. Nominally the elected Leader, the Presient wielded Power in Germany, while the appointed Chancellor managed the day to day affairs of the nation. The President set policy, the Chancellor carried out policy.

Hitler changed that - - - bullying President Hindenberg into granting Hitler more & more authority. Once Hitler was set up as Chancellor he demanded yet another election for members of the Reichstag. With the power of his position coupled with the propaganda & muscle of the Nazi Parties, and by judicious use of the word 'terrorists' and 'terrorism,' aided by the destruction of Germany's Reichstag Building - - - Hitler was given a Mandate - - - The Nazi Party won enough seats to become the Majority Party, as the majority party they voted to outlaw all other parties making Germany a Single Party State (something American Republicans want in America). Once The Nazi Party were in charge, they legally changed lots of laws, outlawing their enemies and entrenching the Nazi s in every aspect of German Life.

Thus Hitler had the power to wage agressive war and eventual lead Germany to ruin.
