Are they doing this to purposefully be disrespectful to those who believe in God? I cringe every time I see someone calling God "it." Maybe I misunderstand their intentions. Please explain! Thanks.

First and foremost of all, not all individuals who use "it" in
addressing God is disrespectful to the Divine Grace. Since
a certain individuals understand God as a divine entity without
gender or possessing both virtues, such will be more in the
wrong to refer God using either "he" or "she".

Of course, there are indeed those who are disrepectful to
God by using the term "it" as the address but, such are
actually of the minorities of those who address God this
way.

Why do no longer you comprise the unique author's call, and supply credit the place credit is due? Regardless, the undertaking of Evil argument is the wonderful argument against God's existence. the undertaking, besides the undeniable fact that, is that that it is nevertheless an extremely susceptible argument! All it is mandatory to do to prepare the argument fake is to prepare that logically God and evil can coexist. they could. And consequently the argument includes no logical weight. besides the undeniable fact that it additionally shows an entire fake impression of who God is and who we are. The "argument" which includes it is means that we ought to continuously in no way adventure something undesirable, that we ought to continuously stay our lives in an idyllic utopia. it is in basic terms stupid. what's the inspiration for this assumption? The argument places God in the placement of serving guy, and assumes that adult adult males given freedom of will could nevertheless no longer have conflict of wills between themselves. in case you do not have the liberty to do what you desire (even whilst it may conflict with what i desire) then you certainly have not got a freedom of will. The argument additionally assumes that there could nicely be no better purpose to evil. returned, it is incorrect. you desire look no better than the final organic disaster to locate human beings helping, offering components, money, investment, scientific care, counseling, and extra. very in many cases, the victims of organic failures finally end up better off than they have been previous to the disaster because of the help that comes their way. This "argument" fee reductions that help. So it in basic terms fails on each and every point.

So what is exactly wrong with "it" Why does god have to have sex. Why is it better to call him a "he" or a "she" . It defines it better as a super entity unknowable eternal and all that, if you go for that sort of thing. people around the world refer to god in all sorts of ways. If god exists I do not think that he would "cringe" as you put it. Words do not have any magical inherent meaning one interprets the code. There is nothing disrespectful in "it". Evolution is an "it" and so is Quantum theory. All forces of creation are an "it" So do not cringe in a religious misunderstanding on your part.

Oh I've used "it" before when I'm talking to a Christian or some person that believes in God as a "He." To me God is "She." I prefer the feminine aspect, so sometimes I use "it" to be on neutral ground.

Really God is everything! God is, He, She, It and Nothingness. It all means the same. God is both sentient and insentient beings. IT exists in rocks, dirt, and anything else that seems lifeless.

Not necessarily. Hypothetically "God" could be of either or neither gender, seeing how in English there isn't any other pronoun for it...sometimes "God" gets called "It" for lack of a better word.

And of course, sometimes people will refer to a god as an it just because they don't like the particular deity. In which case, yes it is intended as an insult.

Actually, I would think it's more a sign of respect, acknowledging that the Divine is unimaginable and above human traits like gender. Maybe these people really do see God as an amorphous "it".

Vedic and Upanishadic Seers, Sages, Rishis are the only ones to use this term.

Through out the vedas and upanishads the great men of mysiticism have refused to give any form, name or attributes to god as in semetic religions. they wonder what is "that", which is in you, out of you and is everywhere and yet cannot be seen, felt ordinarily. Yet you can see him, you can feel him inside you. HE is the one who Is and one who is Not. What will you call such a being. By what name shall I call him. By what name shall i call "That" which is within and beyond. this is the experience of those great mystics. these men went in search of "That" which sustains the living beings and non-living beings. They wonder what they saw, yet cannot be explained. Who is that they saw and felt, yet remains unexplainable. How will i call such a being? These Vedic & Upanishadic Seers, Sages & Rishis were men of awareness. They were not unconscious men who can be ordered to do things. They were dangerous men who set out to find the real existence, its cause and when they saw that everything in themselves as they see themselves in everything, they just were speechless to name it in any language or give it a name or attribute. because any name will not explain it. They simplay said "Tatvamasi - That which is in me, is in that too." So they used simple terms as It, That, This and so on. Any other name would have destroyed the truth.

semetic god on the other hand has all attributes of form, name and what not, how he sould be addressed to.

I call god "it" sometimes because some people believe in a feminine god and some believe in a masculine one, so a gender-related pronoun might insult their beliefs....

easy ..the bible says Satan is making fools of us all.Satan is the great deceiver...and i believe that Satan is in charge of all the false religions of the world .it suits him depersonalise god.

in the old days the churches use to burn people for reading the bible.Until the invention of the printing press...then they could burn everyone
go find an old edition of the king James bible before they took out gods name..for some lame duck reason that we might mispronounce it....it was replace with "the lord"
so it don't surprise me there trying to take god down another peg or two
next step it will be politically incorrect to make any reference to a god at all

It makes less sense to call God "he". Why would the all-powerful creator of the universe have a gender?
