In frozen northern MN, USA the lakes are alive with small houses full of happy fishermen and women all staring down through a 6-8" hole in the ice, hoping to catch a fish! In May, we celebrate summer's arrival, by going fishing on opening weekend. The campgrounds are all packed, the lakes are full of happy fishermen. We love it!

My husband and I did a lot of fishing back in the old days. the best spots were around Jbeil ( byblos) to Amchit.
But I think that the water is still too polluted from the neighbourly attack on the oil tanks last year.
Can you make your trip any more painful to us Aussie? do you really want to rub it in more???

Edit: yeah Aussie,*sigh...* I was supposed to be there at the end of the month, but now it's looking like it'll have to be for January.

I heard that being beautiful is the most popular pass time, I mean, Fatma has those rose colored glasses on and loves everyone. I wish I could be more like her. Also, you're surrounded by water, you have more beaches than most, you're just so fortunate!

We usually buy fish from 'seafood market' it's a restaurant... they deliver it too, grilled, fried whatever and they make it delicious....

I don't know where exactly there's fishing in lebanon... I agree with webby, i think it's still polluted.. The fish that are sold here in lebanon is bought from neighbors... i don't know which neighbors...

I usually tell mom: "mama I want fish...." I love my mom.... it'd usually be a day of no cooking for her...
