a) imprevedibile (literal), incerto ("unsure"); like the weather, somebody's behaviour, a game result, etc.
b) mantenere la propria posizione, both literally (military, football, etc) or about one's own ideas, opinion. For this last meaning, other expression are more used.
c) that make feel shy = imbarazzante (embarassing); that make somebody doing something by scaring him: "intimidente", but used very rarely: more often this kind of sentence is builded up by using "intimidire", to intimidate, as a verb.
d) passionale (in relationship), appassionato, ardente (kiss, person, nature, speech); appassionato, infervorato (advocate, plea), profondo (belief)

ígnore college butt´s answer, I think he used an online trnaslator :D Italian and French tranaslations simply don´t make any sense :D I´m not sure bout the Spanish one but probably itßs wrong too.

btw, what on earth do you mean with "more than bilingual" college??!!A person can have only two parents so he/she can only be at the most bilingual, if not monolingual, all the other words (trilingual etc...) are just exaggerations... or maybe you don´t know what it means to KNOW a language as a native speaker.

Edit #1 - yr sentence at the point b) sounds like "he stands on his own ground" and I've translated this meaning.
