If you believe we have free will, then yes, as ridiculous as it sounds, he will be in heaven when he dies, and his salvation will be based on his decision at that particular time, with him barely beating the dividing line of death. Although this conflicts with God's sovereignty, it is explained by God's knowledge of his free-will decision.

If you believe we do not have free will, then God would have predestined and called this person to himself, therefore giving this person a completely new heart. This would be based on God's decision -- and therefore his salvation would have been from eternity to eternity with no dividing line of death, as God would have worked His will and thus shown His power.

Two completely different viewpoints, and only one thing in common, that of a new relationship that would have happened if he had not died.

If he truly accepted Jesus and sincerely repented for all of his sins, yes.

Yes, all those things would be forgiven, if he believes in the Son of God.
