John said there were already many antiChrists among them. In one sense anyone opposing Christ is an antiChrist or part of the antiChrist.
But there does seem to be a particular figure who will set himself up in the Third Temple (not yet built) as God.
I've heard the usual prejudiced speculation stemming from America about it being the Pope, the RC Church, the Vatican, the UN Secretary-General, the first (soon-to-be) leader of the EU, etc. All nonsense as far as I'm concerned.
The problem is that because antiChrist will come as a man of peace, there are many Christians who've turned their back on peacemaking and slobber eagerly for war.

yes definitely. But NOT in the form he is going to reveal himself in the last days openly...resisting and abusing GOD, making a degree to worship him alone. The clear answer is in I John 3:4 "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world". Even at the time of St. John the antichrist was working by way of imparting his spirit in them. Those who have the siprit of antichrist may very well be called as antichrists.
But you want specifically who is he?. The answer is the Pope of Roman catholic. Be not troubled. The simple reason is, one who can iinfluence the whole world polically and religiously at the same time revered by all as god only can raise to promise peace for the world..the false pease.
Our JESUS is also going to appear very soon as HE is, with full of glory and mejesty. But now we understand only through the presence of the Holy spirit. Oneday we are going to see him face to face, while the left out are going to see the antichrist face to face. I do not want to remain in the world to clear my doubt who the antichrist is, but clear my body to be with HIM ever. Hallelujah! What about you?

the antichrist may or may not be alive today. martin luther was convinced that the pope in his time was the antichrist. others who have lived in the past few hundred years have been equally sure as to the identity of the antichrist. so far, they have all been incorrect.

Yes of course. All who are against Christ are antiChrist. I see two Westerners (I dont know which country) dressed in black pant and white shirt walk about. My parents said that once they came to our house also. They asked my parents if they are Christians and started talking against the Scriptures. My parents sent them away. Our church pastor asked us to send em away if they come. I think many ppl are like these. They talk bout a man who got some vision and the are fast spreading. Dont ever heed to them or listen also. Just tell them to go away.

denouncing jesus is a form of anti christ. placing money, pride or other as a priority before christ in your life is seen as another form of anti christ. so in a sense anti christ is living today north south east and west. the same as anti christ was present in the scriptures. as mnay would have you believe, there will not be a present or future mark of the beast, chip implant to identify or other of the theories rampant today. the same as there will not be a rapture, this theory is poorly based in scripture especially the symbolic text of revelations.

the anti christ may not be a person. it can be an ideal, a belief, an act. there are many "anti christs" in the world if you're looking at people. label them all you want. not all of them are the anti christ that's predicted in the bible. actions speak louder than worlds. perhaps we should look into ourselves to see if the anti christ is living in the east or west - depending on where you reside.
