You are creating your own reality. It is likely that deep parts of your psych hold strong intentions to be fulfilled.
The way you structured your question presupposes that "destiny" is handed to you from a higher being. That represents your view of reality.
Consider that you have a destiny and that you created it. You can change your plans, although you may still be influenced by the momentum of your previous beliefs.

You are destiny and everything you need to complete the journey you received while in the womb. The problem comes after you leave the womb the influence and indoctrination of others distorts the original intent and design. You must purge this insanity to discover your unique gifts and treasures.

i believe in destiny and everyone of us has a destiny, so do you!
We do not make destiny cos we are just humans!
have you ever wonder what if you are never born?
if you dun exist, do you have a destiny?
i know that to me, God created destiny. he create your destiny and he CHOSE create your destiny. everything you do throughout your whole life, he plans it. if he dun do it, are you going to exist?

we generally thinkg and perceve like this,
but destiny doesn`t fall in our jurisdiction at all,
