Ok, lets start by clarifying some facts:
G35 (US) = Skyline (Japan)
350Z (US) = Fairlady Z (Japan)
GTR (US) = GTR (Japan)
As of today and in the future, you must understand the naming before you go ahead looking for a Nissan sports car.
In the past, the Skyline was only available in Japan. Later on, around 2003, a new Skyline appeared in Japan, and also came to the US under Infinity G35 model. This Skyline has nothing to do with the GTR model, it has no turbos as we all know, nor has the AWD system.
Same with the Z car, it has always been the Fairlady Z since the days of Datsun (now Nissan/Infinity). Here in the US started as the 240Z, then 280Z, 300ZX (old Z31 and new Z32) and now the 350Z.
As for the GTR, Nissan has decided to separate it from the Skyline and make it be it’s own model. There will be no Skyline GTR anymore, just GTR, period. It will be sold as a Nissan GTR everywhere in the globe. Nissan wants to keep the title for this one, so Infinity will not have the GTR.
In Japan, is scheduled to be released by fall 2007. Here in the US will hit the market in 2008, around spring time probably.
Price range will be around $70,000 in the US. Sounds like a lot, but is because is a high performance sports car, destined to compete with the Porsche 911, the Corvette C06, and similar.
Details for engine and drive train is still top secret. Nissan has made sure nobody gets the secrets. Some rumors indicate (and have been unofficially confirmed by Nissan engineers that did not disclose their names) that the engine will be the same VQ35 that comes in the G35 and the 350Z but made to a 3.7L. it will have Twin Turbos, AWD, and AWS (known as HICAS or Super HICAS by Nissan), besides new technology being applied all over the vehicle.
Power will be at least 450BHP, many think that it will hit 500BHP, and we all know that just adding an aftermarket Boost Controller, we’ll be probably looking at 550BHP or more without problem and no further modifications.
The transmission (as per rumors) will be a Paddle Shifter style with probably 7 gears or so. It is unknown if a manual “old school” transmission will be available at all. There are also rumors of electrically assisted turbos, but nothing confirmed. Same as electronically controlled suspension.
0 to 60 should be under 5 seconds, and ¼ mile should be under 12 seconds. The 350Z and the G35 are going to be nothing compared to the GTR, and unless you have money to buy one, or to modify your G35 (like a supercharger or turbo kit), you will not be able to catch a GTR on the streets, nor will you be able to keep with it when it comes to handling as it will be able to take corners like if it was a straight line.
Corvette and Porsche drivers out there, be afraid… be very afraid… lol

Hope you guys have fun with these as you have missed out with the other Skylines but as far iam aware. its up to Nissan in the country to market them as the gtr or the skyline gtr and even some being the r35 again depends on ie Nissan USA to which its going to be called to you guys.
Get some tuning done on your G35 .
My R33 scares most of the expensive sports cars and i payed so little for it.

A G35 can easily be on the 500+whp range if you invest in some go-fast goodies. There's plenty of aftermarket go-fast parts that will let you play in the corvette playground.
As for the GTR, the $60k USD "base price" is somewhat excessive. It's coming to the US and all that good stuff, but I will not put my money in something that's not street proven.

My understanding fall of 2007 as a 2008 year model car the Skyline GTR V-6 will have twin turbos and a 3.7 liter motor. Cost will be around $80,000 base brice plus dealer mark-up. As with any newly introduced car problems get fixed in latter years.

if you want to beat your boyfriend, just take him to a proper racetrack. Your G35 should be able to put him down unless hes driving a z06 or viper.
