Great move, Teresa has slowed his championship progress for too long. It will be Jr. Motorsports running Hendrick engines! Lethal combination to say the least! Maybe he'll drive the 83 car, that way all the Jr. faithful can just add a 3 to all their stuff!

Oh, and DavidL, you REALLY are an idiot! Sure Sr. started the team for his children, but Teresa has run the company into the ground... You cannot blame Little E...

I think it is a good move for Jr. He needs to fulfill his destiny and go drive the #3 RCR car to a championship. Then everyone will get off his back because he is not Dale, Sr.

I think that Teresa Earnhardt has made a huge mistake. However, I also think that most people (almost all of the ones on Yahoo Answers) do not give her anywhere near the credit she is due. She was (is) the business mind behind Dale Earnhardt's (Sr.) commercial success. Dale was the first driver to copyright his signature and likeness. Dale and Teresa taught NASCAR how to sell souveniers! Richard Petty made NASCAR famous, Dale Earnhardt (and Teresa) made NASCAR rich.

There is a lot of crap going on behind the scene for sure. Dale had said that if he did not get a majority ownership of DEI that he would go somewhere else. I thought i had heard that they gave him 51% of the team, but there has always been a lot of hate between dale and his step mother. He wants to go his own way and win a cup, and now that they say they will use hendrick engines and set-ups they will have a good shot to win now. Also budwiser is said that they will go with dale if he does leave. I think that it will really hurt DEI if he does go somewhere else, he is the face of DEI.

Great move. DEI is going nowhere unless Theresa lets someone else run it. The ran it into the ground and lost everything.

David you have no idea what you are talking about. The rumor was that she wanted to SELL him 51%. Dale made the company for the kids not to sell to the kids. Either way DEI also said the rumor was not true.

Great call for him, and the fact that he is taking his sponsor, and teammate with him, as well as possibly his teammates sponsor. He just destroyed DEI, they will still get the residual income off of Dale Sr. but really DEI at this point in time is a dead ship.

Hendricks though is denying that they are going to be helping them at all, so I wonder.

Edit- David L when the hell did he get 51% ownership? Your an idiot who has no clue what your talking about. Why dont you just smile, because you obviously have no clue whats going on around you. Teresa destroyed the company, and wouldnt give it up to anyone, but now wants to merge the company with another organization, even though Sr built it for his kids, she would rather give it away to someone else.

I am a big JR fan, and it will be sad to see him leave the company that his father started... But I do think it is the best move for him... Teresa has been nothing but trouble & has run DEI into the ground. I think it is awesome that Budweiser will go with JR... after all, when you think of JR you think of Budweiser and vice versa. Dale Sr created DEI for his children. His intentions were not for it to be sold to them. Once JR gets away from DEI, he will be in victory lane more often. Then he can rub it in Teresa's face!!!

Jr. being given 51% of DEI was a rumor that was debunked by both Max Segal (chief negotiator for DEI) and Jr. Teresa is a bitter woman, and if the rumors of a merging with RYR are true, what would Sr. think about her refusing to relinquish control of a company he built for his children to his children?

BTW, one of the new execs at DEI is the former CEO of Robby Gordon Motorsports (RGM), so don't be surprised if RYR and RGM merge with DEI. RGM is already getting motors and support from RYR and sponsorship from John Menard, whose son, Paul Menard, drives the 1 car for DEI.

Fantastic. Great way to show teresa who exactly makes the cut...the number may be a problem, but I am sure that is the least of the issue.Maybe rcr will let him have the 3? You knoe if Jr goes...when he goes, he takes truex, crews Eury Jr...kit and kaboodle, leaving dei a big fat goose egg...This gives Jr his chance to show who he is and what he can do.

I felt all along he was gearing up his Busch team to run a cup team. And if the news conference is this then it will be a very intresting bit of information as to the team and sponsors.
This could be the step in the right dirrection he was looking for.
At D E I he was on the same path as Kyle Petty and had a lot of politics going on and could not concentrate on driving.
Now he will have a better chance at driving.
