i need help deciding a hard decision?

my two freinds are going out in the forest looking for bears because they want to try to kill them with just a knife should i a. take my shotgun and a video camera and video tape them tring to kill the bear and when the bear gets a hold of them shoot it or bjust let them get eaten .i already tried to talk them out of it

Bring a bullhorn to scare the bear away and save your friends lives. For some reason I think this might be a serious question. When I used to drink, I charged a bear once, with no weapons. It ran away, and everyone at the campground loaded up their stuff and went somewhere else.
Maybe they should get sober.
You do know a wounded animal can be extremely dangerous, right?

Let them go. They will not find a bear. They will walk around in the woods for a while, get bored then start making out. Yeah, I said it. They are stupid but you are not too bright either for thinking that a shotgun will do anything but make the bear mad.

I would suggest not going at all. If you get seen in the woods out of season, the DNR could get called and if they catch you with a gun in the woods outside of hunting seasons they can go after you for poaching and confiscate everything you took with you, including your vehicle.
Your 2 friends if they go after a bear with knives are likely to get killed. They come accross a bear with cubs, they are in serious trouble. If they attack the bear it may fight back.
At this point I see 2 options: let them take their chances of getting killed and avoid being a part of it or inform the DNR of it should they go after a bear. After all it could save them some reconstructive surgery or their lives.

First, this proposal demonstrates a significant gap in common sense on everybody's part. Second, bear are protected by state game laws. If your state has a bear season, it most likely is not now. Your friends are not only considering doing something highly illegal (keep in mind that if you go out and "video tape them", you could be charged as an accessory to any charges they incur), they are comtemplating doing something extrememly dangerous. If I were you, I would not be involved in this venture. You could let their parents know or you could notify the authorities. But expect that your friends will probably no longer count you as one of their friends.

They aren't even going to find one, because it sounds like you guys are all morons. However, a shotgun is a bad idea b/c it won't stop the bear. You need AT LEAST a .444 Marlin rifle, but I'd go bigger, probably w/ .45-70 Govt.

However, like I said, you are clearly a moron and you won't find a bear anyways, so don't worry about it.

Either your friends are trying to blow smoke up your skirt and make themselves sound tough or THEY ARE CRAZY. Either way, you should have nothing to do with their loony scheme. You have everything to loose and nothing to gain. Go find some new friends because if they actually try this, you will NEED some new frineds.
