Is there any feasible research that is going on or has been done on the subject of two people switching bodies or switching minds into different bodies. Switching consciousness?

In the early 1960s Russian researchers became famous for grafting the head of one dog onto the body of another dog creating an artificial "two-headed" dog. Also I recall reading about some experiment in the 1970s which transplanted the head of one monkey onto the body of second decapitated monkey. (Don't know many details about that one.)

In both cases the spinal cords of the transplanted heads remained severed leaving the heads paralyzed. I know the dog only lived a few days after the surgery. I should guess the same fate for the monkey.

There has been research on the subject, but no one has actually succesfully done a full brain switch yet.
