Yes, but as it happened, Hitler declared war on us after we declared war on Japan.

There was a fairly large isolationist faction that wanted to keep the U.S. out of the war, and many of them were sympathetic to Germany, although probably not completely aware of what Hitler was doing.

There were many German Americans who were totally supportive of the war, especially after war was declared, and many of them were eventually war heroes.

My uncle was one of those.

Many people thought all Hitler was doing was getting the trains running on time, building Volkswagens and setting up the Autobahn system.

Well my family back then all spoke german until the outbreak of WWII then they started speaking english and laid low for awhile lol.
I'm not sure really, i think i remember reading that before the war Hilter sent out a beacon for all germans to return to the Fatherland.

Most Americans were opposed to declaring war it was only after Japan bombed you they changed their mind.

Yes, there was also a Nazi party in the U.S. just before that opposed the entrance of the U.S. into the war effort and aiding the UK.

Yes there were but the difference between then and now is that the American people put aside their difference's and pulled to-gather to win the war.

I'm sure there were. There is always opposition for different reasons when was is declared.

i dont think their opinion mattered nor did they have much of a choice

and america didn't declare the war.. they joined because of the attack on pearl harbor

Yes, and some planted bombs in San Diego. But thank God, the bombs were discovered in the last moment and nobody was killed by them.
