Chrissie ask a question but does not have any way for people to answer her ,Ecology is a blend of Greek and latin meaning the study or the knowledge of the home (environment)
so Environment is the place and Ecology is the knowledge of the place ,In essence both mean the same thing ,but for those who have a problem with that we have already ASKED YAHOO IF THEY CAN INCLUDE THE NAME ECOLOGY WITH ENVIRONMENT again

Back in the 1970's, Ecology and Environmental Science had hardly been heard of - it was Biology, Chemistry and Physics and that was about it. Back then, anyone who professed an interest in the importance of ecology and environmental science, as it became known, was accused of being 'loony' or a bit 'crack-pot'. Since then we have learnt to know better. The importance of Ecology and Environmental Science has now been fully recognised to the extent that these subjects are taught in their own right in schools, colleges and universities right around the world. Even in circumstances where there is little or no formal education, the ordinary person growing up recognises the importance of his/her own local ecology and natural environment and the effects of man's actions on the world around them. The fact that so many people have a genuine interest and concern for these issues has now also been recognised and acknowledged by Yahoo in the formation of the new Environment category here at Answers. It will be interesting to see how this category develops over the course of time. I wish it well.

Yes! I think this is the best topic of them all! Everything else doesn't matter if we trash ourselves out of our current home (Earth). Everything we do should be in a positive step to improve our environment. Imagine that in the bibical times, the middle ages, and the turn of the century, they were also concerned about their footprint on the environment. Today we could easily make a 12 square acres of trash during our life time. I encourage those who are interested in decreasing their ecological footprint to visit:

i think of this would nicely be a powerful theory, yet not for the justifications you cite. regardless of in case you furnish a set of sub-categories for various religious communities, you're nevertheless going to need a faith (ordinary) area to hide go-religious questions (and doubtless and (different) area too). inspect the trip area, as an occasion: there are a number of categories for various places, yet nevertheless a ordinary one. And if there's a ordinary class, then there'll probably nevertheless be some opposition happening. on the different hand, it might probably serve some human beings nicely to have segregated areas if that they had a lot of questions some particular faith, or maybe merely needed to verify different peoples' questions and solutions approximately that faith. many faiths extremely have little or no to do with one yet another, so i think of they actual ought to advantage their very own communicate sections. we would nevertheless have opposition, besides the undeniable fact that it may be extra concentrated. all people wins! Yes, indeed.
It is a good thing to have a category for Environment related questions.

Good Job, Yahoo! Inc.

Congratulations on receipt of this most important segment to be included in our discussion group. Now, all we need is an adult section for matters that minors should not see or be a part of, and who would not become affected by matters that are more mature. Also, other adults who are easily offended would have a choice or not to enter in.

I think its great. I'd like to see some grass roots ideas, things/actions people can do in their homes and communities. That is while we still have some grass roots. Apparently governments can't help us...guys in expensive suits and bad haircuts having meetings in D.C.do not save the world, they just talk about it.

It needs work. The categories have less to do with environmental science now and are dealing more with the reactionary "Al Gore" pseudoscience of scare-em environmental activism.

A very appropriate move. For one thing it gets "global warming" out of the category of science where it never belonged in the first place.
