I don't get this title? If they are Americans you might call them 'traitors'. In a war why are they called 'terrorists' if they are attacking soldiers? If they were 'terrorists' wouldn't they want to go to some other place and attack American civilians? They are definitely 'enemies' of America but 'terrorists' sounds a bit off. these guys could easily have targeted larger groups of Americans and succeeded in their attack. Why attack a military base? And where are these guys now?

I think using the term 'terrorists' give the US gov't the right to take away all their rights by zipping them off to Guantanamo.

terrorist (noun)
a person who tries to frighten people or governments into doing what he/she wants by using or threatening violence

They were not Americans, and even if they were, their actions constitute the term. I grew up in Peru during the 80's when the terrorist group Shinning Path was at it's strongest. The Peruvian citizens did not call them 'traitors', they were terrorists even though they were Peruvian nationals.

In a war they are called terrorists b/c they are not a formally recognized government sanctioned army.

Not all terrorists attack in foreign countries, they seek out the most opportune moments and places where they are going to make a big impact. Think about it, if their attack on Ft. Dix/McGuire AFB was successful, it would have been a huge blow to the US military and they would have bragged about it and used it as propaganda to recruit more terrorists.

It doesn't matter where they are from. If they are going to use senseless violence to frighten people, they are terrorists. The US Government is not using the term as an excuse, their actions warrant that determination.

Oh, and terrorists are not covered under the Geneva Convention. It was a set of rules for war between government sanctioned armies. This does not include the terrorists (see above definition) or insurgent groups.

I am against the Invasion of Iraq and the "Detainee " status thing Gonzales dreamed up but, NO, these people are truly Terrorist. They are what would have been called fifth columnist in either World War. Back then they would have been tried and executed.

No need to GITMOIZE them, they don't know crap. Just try them and execute them.

Maybe you need to read what the definition of a terrorist is, and what constitutes a terrorist attack. If this doesn't fit the bill, then what does.....????

you are right but there is also another issue. most of them are from Kosovo, Serbian province soon to be independent state thanks to the US policy over there. Since US is pushing Independence for Kosovo they are suppose to be friendly(do you see the similarity with the Afghanistan ?).
